Dr. Tapp is a Registered Naturopathic Physician who uses a combination of conventional and complementary medicine which focuses on the holistic treatment of an individual from a physical, mental, and emotional point of view.

Growing up in Calgary, Alberta she had a passion for medicine starting at a young age in addition to being a high-level competitive swimmer. She eventually landed a full-ride scholarship to an NCAA Division I university at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Here, she received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a double minor in Chemistry and Psychology. She went on to attend Naturopathic Medical School at CCNM - Boucher Campus in New Westminster, BC which at the same time she maintained involvement in the fitness industry by being a Barre instructor at multiple studios as she believes movement is the best medicine in addition to any treatment plan.

Dr. Tapp’s approach to Naturopathic Medicine is to give her patients all of the knowledge and tools required to take their health into their own hands so they can live a healthy life that is realistic and sustainable. Dr. Tapp welcomes women, men, and children of all ages to her practice, with particular experience in treating the following areas of healthcare: - Women’s health (Perimenopause/Menopause, PCOS, Endometriosis, PMS/PMDD) - Perinatal support (Fertility, Birth prep, Postpartum depression/anxiety) - Dermatologic concerns (Eczema, Psoriasis, Acne, Rosacea) - Metabolic and Musculoskeletal health including Weight management (Diabetes, Obesity, Arthritis, Gout) - Pediatric physical and behavioral disorders (Allergies/Asthma, ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Depression) - Health optimization (Healthy aging) - As well as general Immune and Digestive support

Intravenous (IV) therapy is a large part of Dr. Tapp’s practice as she believes it is a safe and efficient way to administer high doses of nutrients like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids straight into the blood stream while bypassing the digestive system. This allows for faster and more adequate nutrient absorption directly into the cells. Dr. Tapp’s top priority is safety and patient comfort when it comes to IV therapy and her favorite part of this modality is that she can customize each IV to the individual needs of the patient. Suitable candidates for IV therapy are those who are looking for: - Iron repletion (for those who meet the specific laboratory requirements) - Dehydration relief - Treatment of nutrient deficiencies (in conditions like Celiac Disease, Irritable Bowel Disease, SIBO, etc.) - Supporting the body’s detoxification system - Antioxidant and Immune support - Increasing energy levels - Easing anxiety and mood support - Promoting relaxation - Promoting cardiovascular health - Athletic optimization - Fertility support - Longevity and healthy aging optimization - Allergy and asthma support

Hey I’m Dr. Maya

I’ve been studying health and natural medicines for the last 10 years and as a Naturopathic Doctor, I firmly trust that the body can heal itself. It just needs the right environment and support to do so.

My passion for women’s health and hormones and my background knowledge in natural functional therapies give me the perfect combination of clinical expertise and natural knowledge.

My story is very similar to the women I work with…heavy painful periods, thyroid issues, intense fatigue and unreliable digestion all hit me during my undergraduate degree in Honours Health Science at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario.

I was consistently dismissed by my doctors, I was told these were a ‘normal part of being a woman’, and I was offered hormonal contraceptives or anti-anxiety medication.

I finally had to become my own doctor and find the root cause of these problems.

Because of this, I truly understand my clients’ pain, because I’ve been there too.

It breaks my heart when women learn to ignore the signs their body is giving them because they’ve been told by other health care providers that it’s ‘in their head’ or ‘typical for a woman’.

As a little girl, I used to be shy and quiet and reserved. I was honestly scared to be seen.

But as I continue to embark on this journey of life, I have been more comfortable expressing my weirdness. I can be sassy, I can be opinionated, I can be quirky and I love learning new information.

I swear when I get excited and I absolutely love cheering on the women around me as they step into their own power as well!

I don’t want to be like all the other doctors. I don’t want to hide behind a white lab coat and be a cold mirror reflecting back to you.

I want to form a connection with you. I want to show you I’m human too, I have a personality, I have some fire and sass and by sharing myself openly, I see that my clients heal so much faster knowing they are interacting with a real human being.

I value freedom, autonomy and adventure. I value being able to trust myself and building that self trust for my clients as well. I want women to feel connected with their body, their intuition and their body awareness, and to be able to act on this and do what’s best for themselves.

I am on a mission to build up the frequency of the women around me and watch them step into their power and reclaim their voices as they continuously develop toward their highest version of themselves.

Are you ready to come along for the journey?

Hey I’m Dr. Maya I’ve been studying health and natural medicines for the last 10 years and as a ... Read More

With my undergraduate degree in exercise science, I continue to have a genuine love for the amazing ways our bodies respond to exercise and movement which I often incorporate into my treatment plans with patients. My studies in naturopathic medical school at Bastyr University in Seattle, led me to a focus on women’s and children’s health, which I still deeply care about today in my practice.

Personally, I love to spend time outside trying to keep up with my two kids, who keep me hopping and remind me each day how to be a better human. I consider myself a lifelong student or learner of how to care for others, how to be compassionate with myself and how to juggle everything that each day brings!
